Boom goes the nuke
Tonight I am deleting all of my old blog entries and starting anew. No more SEO-centric list posts like “8 real reasons why your business should hire a professional photographer”, no more “Today I photographed a wedding” chirps (who cares?), no “Daily photo” challenges either.
The only old post that probably will be somewhat missed is the one where I’ve tried to explain what a “Diffractive Optic” (AKA “Phase Fresnel”) means. To this day it gets regular visits from NASA, JAXA (Japanese space agency), MIT etc. I’m going to nuke it too… But don’t worry, archive.org got you covered.
So what’s the idea, why go nuclear, and what am I going to post from now on? The idea is reducing the entropy, of course. And I plan on writing about photography. Some of the topics will be extremely nerdy, while the others are going to be plain vanilla with an occasional rant. None of them will be written or edited by AI, and none of them will contain affiliate links. Some topics will be quite controversial, so this is your one and only trigger warning. Boom!
PS: Back in the 90s I was a sole acting moderator of the world’s largest online community of film photographers at the time, if not ever: RU.PHOTO on Fidonet. Then I’ve founded its digital counterpart and had to moderate both. As you can imagine, I’m not looking forward to moderating the comment section of this blog… so there will be none. Nothing takes the wind out of troll’s sails like inability to post publicly. Same applies to link spam disguised as genuine comments. These 2 categories seem to comprise 99.(9)% of blog comments nowadays, so no big loss here. Same applies to post ratings (anyone with a VPN and time to waste can manipulate it), automated cross-posting to social media etc.
However, I would love to receive your comments and answer any questions privately. Just fill out the contact form, and I’ll get your message right away!
